About Us
Who isn't mesmerized by a fire? A roaring wood fire is a sensory experience; it is alluring with smells, crackling sounds and multi-colored flames. Showing up every day to play with fire can be therapeutic, and for a chef, a visceral and challenging interaction. To master this volatile element requires patience, skill and strict vigilance. Any chef that masters cooking with a wood fire is a ''serious chef'' and accolades will follow. The reward is in the enhanced flavors, beautiful charring, and delicate smoky wood-kissed elements. There is nothing quite like pulling fiery red-hot cast iron pans from the embers for searing. The draw a fire evokes IS the inspiration for ember farm to fire. Some may consider it a trend, but if that is the case then it is the oldest trend on the planet! Thus fittingly, we named our locally hand-crafted wood fired oven Beatrice. ''Behold Beatrice'' Dante.

Heather Traylor
I am a St. Simons Island native with strong family roots in the Glynn County community. I have worked within the restaurant industry for roughly ten years in both Atlanta and Savannah, as well as here on St. Simons Island. Although I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education, I love the social interactions and ever-changing, high-pace volume involved within the restaurant and hospitality industries.
My knowledge and primary experience in food and beverage began while living in Savannah, GA, where I worked for a locally owned restaurant group as a waitress, bartender, and eventual FOH manager. As I became more involved with the 'behind the scenes' processes involved in running a restaurant, my passion for both mixology and the use of locally sourced ingredients grew. I decided to return home to St. Simons Island in 2015 and continue my career in restaurant management as a FOH manager and bartender at Ember & Mas Lounge.
