Description
Southeast Georgia Sports Medicine Symposium offers attendees the opportunity to explore topics emerging in the practice of athletic training such as blood flow restriction therapy and utilization of intravenous fluids to assist in rehydration during heat stress events. GATA president, Andy Grubbs, will demonstrate advanced treatment protocols of skin trauma through hands-on experience in wound care management and suturing. The symposium will discuss updates on concussion management guidelines as well as review in depth knee anatomy with medical director, Beau Sasser, MD, and current best practices for pre-hospital spine-related injuries. College of Coastal Georgia professor, Christine Brown, will lead an interactive break-out session on mobilization techniques to improve athlete outcomes following injury. CEU’s will be offered to athletic trainers for attending this event!
