SUMMARY:Golden Isles Alzheimer's Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the on Saturday\, November 7\, 2026\, at beautiful Neptune Park for a meaningful morning of hope\, remembrance\, and community. This inspiring family-friendly event brings together neighbors\, friends\, caregivers\, and advocates to raise critical funds for Alzheimer's and dementia research while supporting local families facing the challenges of memory loss every day.\n\nProceeds from the walk benefit Memory Matters Glynn\, a local independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free education\, support groups\, counseling\, memory screenings\, and enriching social activities for individuals living with memory impairment and their caregivers throughout Glynn County and the surrounding area. Funds also support groundbreaking research through the Goizueta Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Emory University\, one of only 27 nationally recognized Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers funded by the National Institutes of Health.\n\nWe believe the fight against Alzheimer's requires both innovative research for better treatments and compassionate support for those living with the disease today. Together\, we can help provide hope\, guidance\, and comfort to families while advancing the search for a cure.\n\nThe morning begins with registration at 9:00 a.m.\, followed by a special opening ceremony. Visit our heartfelt "Memory Lane\," where loved ones will be honored and remembered before participants embark on a scenic two-mile walk through the charming Village area of St. Simons Island. Whether you walk in honor of someone you love\, in memory of someone you miss\, or simply to support families in our community\, your participation will make a lasting impact.
